On which genre best describes her personality …
Oh goodness. I would say I’m a mixture of all of them but depending on the day … I’m laid back like smooth jazz but eclectic and funky like soul and creative like soul but I don’t know… I’m new like hip hop I’m daring like hip hop and that would pretty much describe me…I’m crazy like heavy metal too sometimes (laughs)

Currently in her playlist …
Right now playing is, I don’t know if you’re familiar with Dwele. I love Dwele and Lalah Hathaway. And for gospel music I have to say Deitrick Hadden Together in Worship. That’s it.

On future artistic collaborations …
I would love to…I guess one of my dreams would be the sing the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ with the legendary Roots crew playing in the background. I would love to collaborate with them or a couple other people that are probably unfamiliar but mainly, if I can have one concert with the roots playing I’ll be happy.

On musical influences …
D’Angelo, Lauren Hill, Erykah Badu, Brandy Norwood … I know that’s a weird mix but they all have some skill or certain qualities in their music that make their music exceptional to me.

Adrianne Archie

Adrianne Archie is not so much new to the scene as she is a fresh, bold sound that is jealously enjoyed by those who have discovered her music. She allows her own life experiences to inspire her to creatively write about her faith.

A self proclaimed walking miracle, Adrianne is bold enough to command death to behave itself on the song Always on Time from her debut album, HTHAELHH, while passionately sharing a testimony about her complete healing from severe spinal cord degeneration while in college. “It made me believe God could do anything. I went from a place where doctors were telling me that there was no cure and that they couldn’t help to being completely healed. It just made me crazy enough now to believe that God can do anything.”

It is through different struggles and hurt that Adrianne believes she arrived at a point of realizing a true relationship with God. “It took me breaking away from where I grew up and learning beyond the foundation of what people had told about Christ to acknowledge that Jesus was so much bigger than what I was thinking. He didn’t just come to save one group of people but an entire world. “

Despite all the things that make each person different from the other; culture, backgrounds, faiths – Adrianne believes that our common ground is in the fact that we all hurt and that Christ’s love for each of us gives us an opportunity to not remain in that place of hurt.

She plays her part in sharing this love through her music which can always be trusted to be a soulful and authentic mix of both her own songs and remixes of some great old favorites.

Her next project called Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength will be released summer ’09.
