On which genre best describes her personality …
I think I am a mixture of pop and gospel just like my music.
On her favorite song on Believe …
That will be “Trust in the Lord”, its part of my favorite scripture which is Proverbs 3:5&6. The song is an encouragement to people to trust in the Lord regardless of how things look right now.
On future artistic collaborations …
I would like to work with Fred Hammond, I had an opportunity to do some back ground recording for him but it did not work out the way I wanted so I’m hoping for more opportunities in the future. I would also like to work with Pajam.
On musical influences …
When I was growing up I was influenced by people like Tramaine Hawkins, Bebe and Cece Winans, Fred Hammond, Commissioned. I listened to all different types of music and genres. And I believe the next album I work on is going to incorporate different styles of music.
Raishein
This new artist’s fresh pop sound is a welcome addition for a genre whose listeners can’t get enough of quality contemporary gospel music. Although Raishein will only just be unveiling her first album Believe this month, music has been a part of her entire life. A pianist by age 5 and composer by 8, she initially came on the music scene as an R & B singer and talks candidly about experiences that took her from singing in church as a young girl to being a teenage runaway to enduring an abusive relationship and marriage and eventually getting divorced.
In 2001, after rededicating her life to Christ, a timely dream helped erase any doubt that she would be using her talent to share the love of God. Believe pulls strongly from those rich experiences and takes you on a journey though all that she has learned and continues to discover about life and God.
Songs like HELP ME and GRACE AND MERCY are strong proof of that: “There is something in Believe for everyone; it’s for the broken, the redeemed, the believer and the unbeliever. The title song of the CD, Believe is for all nations-believers and unbelievers encouraging them to place their trust in Jesus.”
You will remember her beautiful, distinctive voice after your first play and her well-written lyrics and contemporary beats will keep her music in your rotation.
Raishein actively pursues other creative outlets; as an actress, she has starred in musicals in her current residing state of Houston TX and is currently in talks with a local TV station on being a talk show host. According to her, it is really important to fulfill the things that God lays in your mind.
Believe, one of such fulfillments, will be officially released on Feb. 10th 2009.
